Chiropractors generally use 2 approaches to chiropractic care. One of the methods and our preferred method here at D&M Chiropractic and Therapeutic Rehab is the hands-on method. Hands-on is the traditional method that was coined by chiropractors in 1895 by Daniel David Palmer when he performed the first manual chiropractic adjustment. This method is still widely used today by most chiropractors. Our doctors here at D&M Chiropractic use the hands-on method because it is the technique that is most effective for optimal care. When the hands-on method is utilized, pain and discomfort are easily gauged and located by the doctor’s hands. The doctor is then able to manually help the patient get better and apply pressure to adjust the body.

The hands-on method is Dr. Marc Micucci’s preferred and most devoted method. While some chiropractic instruments can be useful, the majority can be gimmicky, ineffective, cost the patient more money out of pocket, and a distraction from the root cause of your visit to the chiropractor. Here at D&M Chiropractic we aim to find the root cause of the patient’s problem and use a technique that is most effective for your specific needs and concerns. D&M Chiropractic does utilize various modalities to help go deeper and warm up the muscle before an adjustment is made, you are easily able to do this in addition to the hands-on method when practiced and utilized in everyday practice.

Chiropractors typically treat musculoskeletal conditions, which is a muscle and bone condition, which we will discuss in further detail in another blog post. Chiropractors also treat, chronic pain conditions including fibromyalgia, myofascial pain syndrome, and migraines. Doctors of Chiropractic also treat injuries, numbness and pain of the extremities as well as spinal conditions including back pain, neck pain, spondylosis, and degenerative disc disease. While there are too many ailments and injuries to list, chiropractors tend to treat the vast majority. They work with your and your body to come up with an optimal plan to tackle your toughest concerns.
